Congrats to Jordan Lum and Jake Dove for their paper entitled “Single microbubble measurements of lipid monolayer viscoelastic properties for small amplitude oscillations.” This paper reports on theory and experiment relating lipid intermolecular forces to microbubble resonance and damping.
Congratulations to Dr. Paul Mountford on his comprehensive review On the Thermodynamics and Kinetics of Superheated Fluorocarbon Phase Change Agents. We provide an argument for the energy barrier to homogeneous nucleation as an explanation for the metastability of superheated PFC droplets used in ultrasonics.
We recently launched our second spin-off company: Nanosonics Bioreagents LLC. This company based in Boulder CO focuses on reagents used for DNA shearing (e.g., for sequencing of genomic DNA) as well as phase-change agents ultrasound imaging and therapy. Lab Alumnus Paul Mountford is the CEO, and lab alumnus Jameel Feshitan is the CFO. Paul Dayton and his team from UNC Chapel Hill are co-Founders.
Our first company (Advanced Microbubbles Laboratories LLC), also based in Boulder CO, was launched in 2014 by Jameel Feshitan, who is the Founder and CEO.
My family and I are settling into life in Firenze. Now it’s back to work! Here’s a view from my office.
